What is International Data Week 2023?

International Data Week (IDW) 2023 is a global convergence of data scientists, data stewards, researchers, industry leaders, policymakers, and experts from diverse fields. Unlike traditional conferences, IDW 2023 is more than just an event; it's a celebration of data, knowledge, and collaborative efforts. This year, IDW shines a light on the potential of data to drive positive change globally, particularly in response to challenges like the COVID-19 pandemic.

A standout session at SciDataCon 2023 is the panel discussion titled "Standards for a FAIR Data Future: How to Advance Standardization in Data Management?".

This session delves into the critical role of standardization in research data management (RDM), focusing on the German National Research Data Infrastructure (NFDI). NFDI is committed to aligning RDM with the FAIR principles, ensuring data is Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, and Reusable.
