School of Brain Cells & Circuits "Camillo Golgi" 2023
Erice, Italy
Discover the forefront of brain research at the International School of Brain Cells & Circuits "Camillo Golgi" 2023. This year's course, focusing on "Modeling the brain in health and disease: towards digital twins," offers insights into constructing brain digital twins, clinical applications, and crucial focus areas. With reknown Course Directors and Prof. Petra Ritter's significant contribution on Day 4, this event at the Ettore Majorana Foundation in Erice, Italy, is a hub for collaborative breakthroughs.
We're excited to announce that the doors to the International School of Brain Cells & Circuits "Camillo Golgi" are open for the highly anticipated 2023 course: "Modeling the brain in health and disease: towards digital twins". Set to take place from December 8th to 12th at the Ettore Majorana Foundation and Centre for Scientific Culture in Erice, Italy, this event delves into the intriguing realm of brain digital twins, addressing fundamental questions about their construction, clinical implications, and the necessary focus areas for a multidisciplinary community to achieve maximum impact.
Guided Exploration
Guided by renowned Course Directors Prof. Egidio D’Angelo, Prof. Claudia Gandini Wheeler-Kingshott, and Prof. Viktor Jirsa, the course will explore the modeling of molecular, cellular, microcircuits, and large-scale properties of the brain. Emphasis will be placed on understanding the complexity of the brain's physiology and biology, alongside the integration of data from cutting-edge imaging and neurophysiological techniques.
Special Contribution by Prof. Petra Ritter
A standout feature of the course is the active participation of Prof. Petra Ritter on December 11th, 2023. Prof. Ritter will contribute to the discussion on "Data and strategies for personalized digital twins" presenting a talk titled "Decision making using virtual brain models".
